Payant, Tyra K., 102 of Ocean City passed away peacefully early Palm Sunday morning, April 9th in the comfort of her home. Born in Essen, Germany in 1914, Tyra immigrated to Baltimore, MD in 1947 with her husband Jack. After her husband’s death in 1977, she traveled the world and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Ocean City Pops and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Friends will long remember her fabulous dinner parties. She was an inspiration to numerous women who admired her style, beauty and eternal youth. At mini-golf and scrabble, she was unbeatable. Tyra was predeceased by her husband Jack, her son John, and her grandson Charles; and is survived by her daughter Mimi, her grandson John William and her great grandsons Jacob, Devon and Dylan. A small family funeral will be followed by “Tyra’s Life Celebration” scheduled for July. Her Heavenly Father celebrates her home-coming.
