Obituary of Margaret Huff

Huff, Margaret "Peggy" Jan. 1, 1928-April 28, 2013, 85, passed peacefully under the care of family and Holy Redeemer hospice nurses at her home in Ocean City, NJ. Born and raised in Tamaqua, PA to Methodist parents, Harry (Sr.) and Maude (Wilson) Powell, Peggy, 1st runner-up to Miss Pennsylvania, graduated from Tamaqua H.S. and Moore College of Art and Design (Phila.). In 1950, she married the love of her life, William (Bill) Huff. Foregoing a promising clothing design career, Peggy raised two children with Bill: Mark and Wendy, living in Collingswood, NJ and Rochester and Chappaqua, NY; lastly, they moved to their favorite vacation location, Ocean City, 27 years ago. Throughout, she pursued many passions: watercolor and oil painting, reading 2-3 books a week, tennis, cards (bridge), bowling, flower gardening, volunteering at hospitals, needlepoint art, complex puzzles, and sewing. Peggy cherished playing scrabble with family and on a computer; she played to win, with integrity. Peggy was preceded in death by husband (2001), and siblings Harry (Jr.) and Valerie Jones, and survived by her son Mark and his wife, Jill Zarnowitz, and their daughter, Nyssa, and by daughter, Wendy Huff, and her husband, Howard Greenstein, and their two sons, Daniel and Corey. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Ocean City Free Public Library. After a private burial of her ashes, a celebration of Peggy's life will be held at Ocean Reef Condominium Club House, 95 Reef Drive, Ocean City, on May 11 at 4 pm.
