Obituary of Michael Wisniewski

Wisniewski, Michael of Clermont passed away April 14th while visiting with his daughter and her family in Santa Monica California. He was employed in management at Howard Johnson's Hotel and Restaurants for 27 years before retiring as managing partner in 1984 from the North Plainfield branch. Prior to retirement in Cape May County he had lived in England and for 25 years in Edison-Middlesex County. Born in Poland in 1923 he joined the Polish Army in 1942 and served under British command in the Middle East and Italy until 1946 then in The United Kingdom until being honorably discharged in 1948. For his WWII service he was awarded The Cross of Monte Cassino and The Italy Star. Also The British Defense Medal, The War Medal and The 39/45 Star. Survivors include his wife Susan, his son Robert and two daughters Ann Konopaske (Mark) and Sue Meachon (Chuck) also three granddaughters. Memorial service will be Saturday May 4th at 3 pm at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ where friends may call from 2 pm until the time of service.
