D’Ottavi, Joseph A., 67, of Petersburg, NJ passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, surrounded by his family at home.

 

Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he later lived in Margate and Dennis Twp, NJ, and most recently, Petersburg, NJ.

 

Joseph was self-employed as a tile contractor, serving mostly Ocean City, NJ

 

His hobbies included travel, tending his fig trees, and preparing his family’s favorite - homemade pasta. He loved to run his grand-dogs on the beach and enjoyed a good cigar.

 

Beloved husband of Susan D’Ottavi (nee Schweizer), loving father of Andrew D’Ottavi and wife Amanda of Lafayette Hill, PA, and Olivia D’Ottavi of New York, NY. Also surviving is one grandchild, Mia, his sister Bernadette Mangan, his brothers James (Barbara) and Thomas (Janet).  He is predeceased by his parents Hugho and Mary (nee Armandi).

 

A Service of Memory and Love will be offered Saturday morning, March 18 at ten o'clock at the Godfrey Funeral Home, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ , where family and friends may call from ten o'clock until the time of service at eleven o’clock.

 

The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to either the Ocean City Humane Society, One Shelter Road, PO Box 1254, Ocean City, NJ 08226 or Beacon Animal Rescue, 701 Butter Road, Ocean View, NJ 08230.
