Obituary of Jeff Deal
Jeff Ingle Deal, 99, a resident of The Shores at Wesley Manor passed away on February 8, 2023.
Surviving are three loving daughters Jody Deal of Ft. Mill, SC, Susan Wilkins (Burton) of Beesleys Point, NJ and Libby Copes (Wayne) of Bel Air, MD. Her cherished 6 grandchildren are Brandon (Vanessa) and Susan Williams, Andrew and Matthew (Malin) Copes and Emily and Burton Wilkins III. Great grandchildren are Sarah, Stephanie and AJ Williams, Alexandra, Caroline, Marley and Andrew Copes and Will and Ty Kittelson. Also surviving is a niece, Dawn Lafey, of Annapolis MD. Edwin, Jeff's husband of almost 65 years, died in 2009.
The Deals moved to Ocean City from Upper Darby, PA in 1970. Jeff joined Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where she was a past president and program chairperson of the St. Mary's Guild and a member of the Altar Guild. As a Lay Eucharistic Visitor for Pastoral Care she served communion and visited those unable to attend church. In the late 1990's Jeff was designated the Diocesan Episcopal Church Woman of the Year. As a member of The Ocean City Ecumenical Council she volunteered at the Food Cupboard and the Clothes Closet from its inception in 1990 and in 2011 Jeff received the Ocean City Ecumenical Council Appreciation Award for Dedicated Service. Jeff's Christian beliefs led her to be involved in her community showing her faith in action and helping those in need maintain their dignity.
In the 1980's Jeff was proprietor of Something Old, Something New Bridal Shop on Asbury Ave. and was active in The Garden Club of Ocean City for many years. She also served on The OC Preservation Tree Commission.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on March 25 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 2998 Bay Avenue, Ocean City NJ 08226. A reception and luncheon will be held in the church social hall immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory to Holy Trinity Church or United Methodist Cummunities at The Shores, 2201 Bay Avenue, Ocean City NJ 08226.
