Obituary of Joan Lee Wismer
Joan L. Wismer of Ocean City passed away peacefully on March 4, 2023 surrounded by family. Joan was born in Millville on February 18, 1930. She was a 1947 graduate of Millville High School and a 1951 graduate of New Jersey State Teachers College at Glassboro (Rowan University).
After a brief career as a 3rd grade teacher at Wood School, Millville, she spent most of her life as a homemaker and mother, later volunteering with the Friends of the Ocean City Pops Orchestra.
Joan is predeceased by her parents Emma Lee Terzes and Oscar Lee, and her husband of 63 years Ed Wismer.
She is survived by her son Martin and his wife Margy of Somers Point, two grandsons Matthew Wismer of Miami Beach and Brian Wismer and his wife Hannah of Linwood, as well as a great grandson Jake.
Joan loved road trips to Florida and Williamsburg, Va.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Millville and attended the Ocean City Tabernacle for many years.
Services will be private.
