Obituary of James Joseph Schirmuhly

James Joseph Schirmuhly, "Jukee" 76, of South Seaville, NJ, passed away surrounded by his family and friends February 21, 2023. Jim was born in Brooklyn NY to the late Helen (nee Wagner) and John Schirmuhly.

He married Donna (nee Raffa) at St. Josephs Church, Sea Isle City, NJ in 1975.He was predeceased by their daughter Tina Marie Schirmuhly.Jim is survived by his wife: Donna, older sister: Gloria Burke, twin sister: Ruth Costanza, younger brother: Thomas Schirmuhly, 9 nieces and nephews.

He retired from the City of Sea Isle, as Supervisor of Water and Sewer Department. Jim was lovingly known as the “Foreman of the Shit Plant”. He was a State licensed Master Plumber, and a proud member of the United States Coast Guard serving from 1966 until his Honorable Discharge in 1972.

 Jim was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman who enjoyed making his own fishing rods and duck decoys. He loved cooking and baking with family and friends. 

His Viewing will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2020 at 11:00am at Church of The Resurrection of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 200 West Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ.

Burial will follow with Military Honors in Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ.

Contributions in his memory are requested to Covenant House, 929 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.
