Obituary of Helen Farmer
Helen “Joan” Farmer, beloved matriarch, peacefully passed and joined her late
husband Robert Farmer, Monday, February 6, 2023. Born August 31, 1931 in
Claysburg, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Benjamin and Lillian (Harry)
Hockenberry. Throughout a remarkable 91-year journey this devoted wife, mother and spunky
grams dedicated her life to her family. Her door was always open to family, friends,
and cats. Joan loved baking, sewing, spending time in her gardens and taking in
any stray cat in need of a loving home. Joan will be greatly missed by those who have had the blessing of her in their lives,
but the memories they have will be forever cherished.
Joan was preceded in death by her son Brian Farmer and is survived by her children
Deborah (Howard) Wright, Mark (Suzanne) Farmer; grandchildren Mark (Brian)
Schmidkunz, Shawn (Debra) Wright, Shannon (Steven) Romano and Elizabeth
Farmer; great-grandchildren Amanda Shaw, Hannah Wright, Julianna, Lucianna and
Steven Romano. To honor her final request Joan has asked that no service be held. For condolences to the family visit
