Obituary of Andrew James McCrosson, Jr.

Andrew “Drew” James McCrosson, Jr. passed away on February 3, 2023 at home surrounded by family at age 71.  Drew was predeceased by his parents Andrew J. McCrosson, Sr. and June Kline.  Surviving family includes his daughters Kate Mackie (Brandon) son Nathan, Andi McCrosson (Kyle Holt) children Madelyn and James, and Alexis Yerger (Sean) children Eric and Nora,  Drew’s sister Sue Schilling (Bob) and daughters Cindy and Libby, and many cousins and extended family.  The mother of his girls, Janet McCrosson, although divorced 18 years, stayed close friends and remained by his side until the end.  All who knew Drew, knew that his family was at the heart of all he did.  He was a  proud graduate of Villanova University and as an adult, returned to earn a Master’s for Governmental Accounting through Rutgers University.  Drew was also an active member in the community, being a member of the Scottish Rite, Free Masons, volunteering at local food banks and community outreach programs, and a pillar at the Community Presbyterian Church of Brigantine.  Drew was a longtime member of Blue Rock Drum and Bugle Corp, and although the Corp disbanded, his love for it never faded.  Drew delighted being on the water for crew, both as a coach and an active competitor, and helped spear head Ocean City High School Crew Club.  Whenever Drew had the opportunity to help others, he was there.  Drew will be greatly missed by all who had the chance to know and love him. 

There will be a visitation held at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ 08223 on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 11:00 until 12:00pm with a Service of Memory and Love beginning at 12:00.
