Obituary of Laurie Glass

Please share a memory of Laurie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Laurie Marie (Gehres) Glass, 60, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at Mainland Medical Center on Wednesday morning, February 1st, 2023. Born in Somers Point NJ, she lived in Egg Harbor Township and attended Absegami High School. Laurie worked as a waitress for most of her life, waiting on thousands of locals throughout the area. She loved her job and all of her favorite customers, and they loved her sarcastic sense of humor and loud personality. Most recently, she worked at Ready’s Café in Ocean City where her coworkers and customers became true friends over the past two decades. Laurie enjoyed her days at the beach, on the boat, or by the pool. She loved her animals, and spending time with friends and family, especially her granddaughter.

Laurie is survived by her children, Justin Jenkins (wife Kelly) and John Jenkins; granddaughter Riley Jenkins; siblings Lisa Berge (husband Steve), Michael Gehres (wife Melissa), father Earl Gehres (Joanne Davis); and several nieces and nephews. Laurie is welcomed in heaven by her husband Daniel Glass, mother Madeline Gehres, sister Linda Gilbert, and all of her beloved pets.

A celebration of Laurie’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 7, at the Elks Lodge, 1815 Somers Point Rd, Egg Harbor Township, from 3pm to 7pm. Burial will be held privately at Laurel Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laurie’s honor to the Funny Farm Rescue & Sanctuary (www.funnyfarmrescue.org/donate)
