
Obituary of Nicollette Mirra
Mirra, Nicollette, - 95, of Linwood, Nicollette C. Mirra left this life peacefully on December 16, 2022 and is on her journey to the next – she loved to travel. She was 95 years old. Nicollette was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 8, 1927 to the late Michael and Agnes Cozzi. She was later married to Edward J. Mirra in May of 1952 until his passing in 1983. To her family and many friends she was known as "Nicki" or "Sissy". Most of her childhood she resided in Philadelphia, PA. She then moved with her family to Newtown Square, PA for many years and resided for the last 30 years in Ocean City, NJ. Nicollette was a woman ahead of her time. Her career path included teacher, counselor, director, world traveler and many hours spent doing community services. After graduating from Beaver College in 1950 she would go on to receive a Masters in Counseling from West Chester University in 1972 and a Masters in Secondary Education in 1975 from Villanova University. She spent most of her career working in the West Chester School District as a Guidance Counselor. She also served on several boards including the School Board for Marple Newtown School District. Throughout the years, she enjoyed spending time with family, friends and former colleagues. She was an active community member of Ocean City, including the Red Hat Society. She loved to dance and enjoyed a very active social life. She also volunteered to support many good causes in Ocean City. Nicollette is predeceased by her parents, husband Edward, siblings Mildred and Micky. She is survived by her four children Collette (Alan) Twyman, Mary Lou Anderson, Edward (Sarah) Mirra and Merle (Jerry) MacFarlane along with her 13 Grandchildren, Reid (Danielle) Kemena, Tim Kemena and DiDi (Amanda) Twyman, Billy Dondero, Jared and Max Anderson, Kelly (Gib) Shouey, Ed (Rachel) Mirra Jr., Kristen and Joseph Mirra, Alicia, Lauren and Brendan MacFarlane as well as 7 Great Grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be offered Saturday morning, April 15th at 11 o'clock from The Church of the Resurrection of St. Maximillian Kolbe Parish, 200 West Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ where friends may call from ten o'clock until the time of mass.
