Obituary of Anthony DiBattista

Please share a memory of Anthony to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anthony Richard DiBattista, age 79, passed away at home on Friday, January 27, 2023.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he grew up in South Philadelphia and graduated from Southern High School in 1961. He served his country in the army reserves from 1963-1969. Anthony worked in the fur industry as a General Manager for companies Becker and Becker and Becker and Burns. He was the proud Co-owner of the Fur Salon in Northfield, NJ. Anthony was an avid sportsman who had a passion for hunting, fishing and boating.

He enjoyed cooking for family and friends, continuing the culinary traditions using his mother’s recipes.

Survivors include his daughter Nicole DiBattista, grandson Vito Aviolla and cousin Lydia Guagenti.  He will be greatly missed by his partner Jean Jacobson and his dog Maxie.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Mary DiBattista.

Anthony’s wish was to be buried at sea, his most treasured place.  In the spring his wish will be fulfilled.  A celebration of his life for family and friends will be planned at that time.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital www.stjude.org or Tunnel to Towers Foundation www.t2t.org, which were Anthony’s favorite charities.

Arrangements are by The Godfrey Funeral Home of Ocean City. For condolences to the family, visit www.godfreyfuneralhome.com
