Dale was a Legend in my book.
She was the coolest next door neighbor and friend I have ever had the pleasure of knowing!
I remember when she bought the house next door to us when I was in high school, and I knew there was something about this woman I already liked. She was sassy, strong, and told you how it was without missing a beat! I gained a tremendous amount of respect for her right off the bat, and knew she was a great fit here on 1st and central avenue.
Fast forward to April of 2022 I moved back on the street after my 4 year contract with the Army was complete. My wife and I were still excited to see our sassy next door neighbor and see what shenanigans she was up to! She was always friendly and loved to catch up whenever she was getting the mail or coming home in her Red Ford escape. She always had V.I.P parking with that handicap spot and never had to worry about losing it to shore tourist! (the whole block was jealous haha)
When I started my auto detailing business from the garage she always would come around and talk to me when I was working, she would always tell me about how she promotes my work when she could, how the rabbits are tearing up her yard, or just to talk to me and enjoy each other's company.
I always loved grabbing her mail for her or helping her to carry in her groceries whenever I could.
She was a Tremendous friend and neighbor who I wanted her to always know that my family was here to help and were just a phone call away.
The last memory I have with her is before Thanksgiving, she called to ask me to get her nail file that slid underneath the couch and she couldn't get to it. Without hesitantion I was on my way to be her knight in shining armor and return that file back into her possession. After 15 minutes of searching I finally found it and I'm glad it took that long because I got to share my final moments with her as we talked throughout the whole process.
Finally around Thanksgiving I got the call I was dreading, she needed help and I was 40 minutes away from the house on a job. Immediately I snapped back to my time in the service and started to coordinate a MEDIVAC plan to get Dale the care she needed. I was willing to drop everything to get there but she said "I'm fine don't worry about coming here , I couldn't even get even in your car anyway haha!" I got in contact with my wife and she immediately was by her side helping her with whatever she could and more importantly just being a good friend to her.
I'm very grateful God put such an amazing woman in my life. She was one of my first big supporters in the business and a tremendous friend to me and my family. I saulte you Dale for your service to this world and how many people you have impacted with your amazing presence along the way.
Godspeed and save us a parking spot up there for us mortals. Your life here was legendary and I promise to keep your name present throughout the ages.
I Love you so much.
