Obituary of Susan Schroyer
Susan Theresa Cozzan (nee Schroyer), 56, passed away at Atlantic Care Regional Medical Center, Pomona, NJ, on Sunday, November 6th, 2022. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Susan lived in New Castle, Delaware, Sea Isle City, Browns Mills, and Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
A graduate of Ocean City high school, Susan obtained her Associates Degree in Applied Sciences from Mercer County Community College. From there, Susan followed her true passion of caring for others becoming a Registered Nurse working in the emergency department for Capital Health in Trenton and Hopewell, NJ.
Lovingly nicknamed “Sea Breeze” by her father, Skip, Susan was a force of nature, free spirited and always up for adventure. Susan was the first person you would ask to go camping with you or on a trip. She was simply a fun person to create life’s memories with. And yes, Susan had the best laugh, the kind of laugh that makes you laugh too, the belly kinds of laughs.
Just like her mother, Sandy, Susan was truly a wonderful home cook. Not just because her coconut shrimp were so darn delicious, but also because you knew she poured her heart into making them for you, as Susan did with all her favorite recipes. If you were hungry, visit Susan to fill your belly. If you needed a frolicking companion, hang out with Susan for an afternoon. We will all miss Susan, and certainly not one of us could possibly forget the joy she brought our lives.
Survivors include husband Jimmy Cozzan, daughter Abigail Laureti, brothers Matthew (Tatiana) and Nicholas Schroyer, sisters Christine Schroyer, Kathleen Peace (Ron) and Emily Schroyer, stepmother Dolores Schroyer, nephew Liam McMurray, and nieces Erin McMurray and Magnolia Hagg, and of course furry friends, Susan’s German shepherds Jackie and Mia, and her daughter’s poodle mix Nova.
Susan is preceded in death by her father Floyd Schroyer, mother Sandra Schroyer and nephew Gilby McMurray.
