Obituary of Thomas Rock

Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Thomas E. Rock, age 75, left us suddenly on November 6, 2022, doing what he loved while participating in a war re-enactment in Newville, Pennsylvania. Born in Camden, New Jersey, he spent his early years in Collingswood until his family moved to Upper Township. Tom attended Ocean City High School and graduated class of 1967. After high school, Tom enlisted in the Army, where he served in Vietnam with the First Infantry, “The Big Red One.” He received two Purple Hearts, an Army Gallantry Cross, and a Distinguished Service Medal. Tom went on to serve as a police officer for the City of Sea Isle and became a sniper for their tactical team for his expert marksmanship and military training. Through the years, he enjoyed working on historical vehicles, participating in war re-enactments, and most importantly, spending time with his many friends and beloved daughters, Mary and Theresa Rock. Tom was apart of the Cape May County Militia and enjoyed participating in parades and special events with The VFW Post 1963. Tom is survived by his daughters, Mary and Theresa (Cory) and his granddaughter Carter Rose.

His Funeral Service will be offered Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 3:00pm at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ where friends may call from 1:00pm until time of service.

In memory of Thomas Rock, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the V.F.W. Post 1963 in Sea Isle City.
