Obituary of Francis Doyle

Francis “Frank” William Doyle, Sr left to be in the presence of the Lord on Sunday morning November 6, 2022 surrounded by his children.

Frank was a husband, father and grandfather of 5. Born in Philadelphia, Pa on March 27, 1941. He was raised in West Philadelphia, one of six siblings. He was hard working, determined and was independent at a young age. One of the things that gave him a great sense of pride was his 8 years of service in the United States Navy and  his tour of duty  in Vietnam. After his discharge he owned Doyle’s Lunch on Kensington Avenue where he met Donna his wife of 51 years. They fell in love immediately, were married and raised two children. He taught them what it was to have a solid work ethic and what it meant to rise above difficulties and live well.

Frank worked for the JCPenney Company for 25 years as a restaurant manager in the King of Prussia and Granite Run Malls. When those restaurants closed he began to work as a manager at ChickFilA in Liberty One in Philadelphia.  He finished his work life in his “retirement job” at Wesley Manor in Ocean City.

Franks’s greatest joys were his children and grandchildren of whom he was immensely proud.

Frank was predeceased in 2019 by his wife Donna and his son-in-law Travis in February . He is survived by his daughter Melissa Doyle-Waid and her children Abby(Will), Gabrielle and Micah Waid, his son Frank Doyle, daughter-in-law Nicole and their children Mackenzie and Grace Doyle. He will be missed and always remembered with love and gratefulness.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 23 at Sea Isle City United Methodist Church at 4102 Central Avenue in Sea Isle City, NJ. Visitation will be at 11 followed by a Worship Service at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Food Cupboard of the Sea Isle City United Methodist Church in Frank’s memory would be appreciated.
