Obituary of Margaret Roth

Margaret Ellen Llewellyn Roth (Marge), of Ocean City, NJ, passed away peacefully October 15, 2022, two weeks after the death of her husband, Robert, of 61 years.

Born in Hazelton, PA, she graduated as an RN from Philadelphia General Hospital and continued her career as a dedicated nurse working at Abington Memorial Hospital.    Upon  retiring, she moved to Ocean City, NJ full time, after spending many summers at the beach with family.  Marge raised a family dedicating her time as Girl Scout leader, band parent, and avid supporter of all school activities.  She was a member of St Peter’s United Methodist Church and Member of Friends of the Ocean City Library. She loved being involved with the Book Club, Colony Club, and Garden Club.  Her award winning orchids, poinsettias, and African violets were memorable. Her cross-stitch, quilting projects, and “quillow” pillows are loved by all.

The most important part of her life was family.  She and her husband, Bob, were inseparable, known affectionately as “Barge.” They traveled to any, and almost every event her children and grandchildren participated in. She was loved by many, and loved seeing all of the families together.  Even the family dogs knew her lap was open, and that she had plenty of dog treats.

Survivors include her children: Robert (wife Frances), Denise (husband Stephen), and Richard (wife Lisa); grandchildren: Leighann (husband JD), Krystin, Victoria, Robert, Evan, Shaun, and Ashton; and sister Alice Miller.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H Roth, Sr., mother and father, Alice and Evan Llewellyn,  her sister-in-law and brother-in-laws Janet and Clay Bigelow, and George Miller.
