Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Earl and Gertrude (nee Leypoldt) Kullmann, she had many great memories of her childhood in Wisconsin especially spending family summers at her grandparent’s house at Lake Okauchee. Lois attended Juneau High School in Milwaukee. After graduating from high school, Lois relocated with her family to Woodbury, NJ. She attended Glassboro State College (Rowan University) where she met her future husband, Conrad, and graduated with a BS degree. Conrad and Lois were married for 67 years prior to his passing in 2019 and together their lives were full of many good and wonderful years. Lois was a teacher for over 20 years in the Mt. Ephraim and Haddon Heights school districts. After raising their family in Haddon Heights, Connie and Lois lived in Clearwater, Florida before returning to Ocean City, NJ where they resided for the past 20 years.
Lois lived life with enthusiasm and determination. She had a special interest in exploring new places and nature. She enjoyed the shore wildlife and in particular the night herons that returned each year to nest in the backyard. Travel, reading, and playing bridge gave her enjoyment but the best times were always with family and friends. She was generous in time and spirit and had an enormous capacity for friendship. She volunteered at Shore Medical Center, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ocean City and was active in the Parkinson Life Center of Southern New Jersey. She was named a Paul Harris Fellow with the Rotary Club. Lois was also a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Somers Point, NJ.
