Obituary of Patricia M. McGrail

McGrail, Patricia “Patsy” (née Smith), age 87, of Sea Isle City, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Wednesday July 27, 2022.  Patsy was born on June 13,1935 in South Philadelphia. She was the daughter of James and Rose Smith (nee Dougherty). She was a proud ‘2-Streeter’ of Irish Descent, a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish who attended High School at JW Hallahan Catholic School for girls. She had many lifelong friends from the neighborhood and often spoke of her youth and importance of those friendships throughout her life. She was blessed to find the love of her life, Thomas, to whom she was happily married to for 60 years, raising a family of four children in Juniata Park, PA. Patsy and Thomas retired to Sea Isle City a wonderful place by the Sea where they called home for 26 years, basking on the sandy beaches. Patsy was predeceased in death by her husband, Thomas McGrail. She is survived and was very proud of her four children, Michael, Thomas, Patty Ann (John) Schiffler and Tim; Along with sister (Maureen, deceased) Robert Ross and her brother James Smith Margaret. A loving grandmother of four Michelle, Tommy, Ian and Morgan; a Dear great grandmother five Victor, Mason, Lucy, Thomas and Connor James, as well as many close nieces, nephews and friends. She will be missed dearly by her three fur babies Scamp, Samantha, and Sadie. We had a wonderful mother, one who never really grew old, her smile was made of sunshine, and her heart was sold gold. We had a wonderful mother her eyes were as bright as shining stars and we will remember now in love from start to end. That’s the way it will always be. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 11 o'clock at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 44^th Street at Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City, NJ where a viewing will be held from 9 o’clock until 10:45am.

Burial will follow in Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ.
