Obituary of Damien Christian Bakley

Damien Christian Bakley, 49, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at home in Sea Isle City, NJ.  He was born at JFK hospital in Stratford, NJ.  Damien grew up in Haddon Heights, NJ.  He attended school at Kingsway Learning Center, St. John of God, and graduated from Haddon Heights High School.  During summers, Damien lived in Sea Isle City and worked at Busch’s Seafood Restaurant.  In 1999, he began working at the SeaGrill Restaurant in Avalon when the family moved to Sea Isle City year round.  Damien continued his work journey with his cousin Jimmy Bennett at LaCosta and the Oar House Pub in SIC until December 2021 when he was diagnosed with cancer.  Damien was an active member of the SIC United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and on the Board of Trustees.    Previously he belonged to the Cold Spring Presbyterian Church.  Damien is survived by his parents Robert and Bonnie, his brother Richard and wife Patricia, and nieces Erin, Katherine and Ryleigh;  Aunt Helen Bennett, cousins Pearl Chennett, James and Jennifer Bennett, Betty McGill, and the Rush family.   Damien was blessed by his extended family of friends for their prayers and visits.  Damien was preceded in death by his grandparents Doris and Albert Alvarado, Marie Bowers and Richard Weber. His funeral service will be offered Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11 o’clock from Sea Isle Untied Methodist Church, Central Avenue at JFK Blvd, Sea Isle City, NJ where a viewing will be held from 9 o’clock until time of service.  Entombment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ.  Memorials in his name may be given to SIC United Methodist Church beautification fund.
