Obituary of Kimberly Ann DeMarco

Please share a memory of Kimberly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

This world lost a beautiful soul, devoted wife, compassionate mother, and deeply loved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and mentor in Kimberly (Kim) Ann Breish DeMarco, age 49, of Ocean City, New Jersey on July 6, 2022. Kim braved cancer for three years and did so with enormous courage, humor, and strength.

Kim was so many things, among them an active member of the Ocean City community, successful entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for animals of all kinds, especially those with special needs.

Kim is survived by a strong and loving family, including her husband of 24 years, Phillip James (Jamie) DeMarco; son Kai; daughters Keely, Shea, and Lola; mother Geraldine B. Breish; father Robert J. Breish (Priscilla Breish); sister Bonnie M. Groeber (Kirk Groeber) and their children Julia and Kade; and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Kim grew up in Cinnaminson, NJ. She met the love of her life, Jamie, in 1991 when she was only 18 years old. Jamie knew that he had met the girl of his dreams. They had the perfect wedding in the charming beach town of Lewes, Delaware in 1998. As their love grew, so did their family.

Kim spread light and love wherever she went. Her smile was infectious and in the company of her three daughters, she could easily have been mistaken for a sister.  She loved the ocean and convinced her family to move there in 2010 so that her children could grow up on the beach, surf, ride their bikes, fish, and create a lifetime of memories.

Kim was a long time employee of Seventh Street Surf Shop. With the help of her family and in honor of her courageous spirit and love for fashion, Kim opened the Wild Phoenix boutique on 8th Street in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. Determined to continue her dreams, Kim opened her second location on the boardwalk in 2022. Her three daughters run the store and will be there to watch her dream carry on.

Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are encouraged to make a donation to an animal shelter in her name and spend time enjoying special moments with your own family.
