Virginia Weiner

Obituary of Virginia D. Weiner

Virginia “Jinny” Weiner (nee Denus) died on Monday, May 9, 2022 at the age of 98. She was born in Baltimore and raised in Irvington, NJ. After graduating from Irvington High School, where she met the love of her life, Mickey, she did her patriotic duty by writing to him while he was in service during the war. They married in 1944 and were together until his death in 2011. Jinny was an extremely involved mother to their children, Karen (Stollar) and Rick, who could get nothing by their mother, even in her final years. Jinny and Mickey retired to Sea Isle City, NJ in 1971, where she resided for 51 years. She was an active leader in every community in which she lived, whether it was as PTA president, Girl Scout leader, member of the Irvington Mental Health Board, or as the unofficial Sea Isle City information hub from her porch on Pleasure Avenue. She had an incredible memory and a sharp wit, which will live on through the stories that she imprinted on friends, family, and strangers. She was loved by many, respected by all, and trifled by none. Along with her children, she is survived by her son-in-law, Charles Stollar, daughter-in-law, Michele Reithmiller Weiner, granddaughter Sara Stollar Deren and her husband, Jon; grandson Aaron Weiner and his wife Misty Lucas; granddaughter Stacey Stollar Moore and her husband, Donny; and grandson, Marc Stollar. It was her great-grandchildren that always put a smile on her face and fingerprints on her windows: Tyler, Dylan and Max Deren, Alexandra and Graham Weiner, Cate and Lucas Moore, and Jake Stollar. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, May 22nd, at the Rosemont Estates Clubhouse, 246 Everton Boulevard, Marlboro, NJ at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Experience Camps at would be most appreciated.
