Madeline S. Jarden, 99, passed away comfortably on Thursday February 10, 2022 at her Ocean City home surrounded by her family. Born in Atlantic City N.J. to the late Frank and Sadie Sullivan. Madeline was pre deceased by her brother Frank Sullivan and her sister Betty Hagney. Madeline attended The Lady Star Of The Sea Grammar School and graduated from Holy Spirit High School, Class of 1940. Madeline was a member of “ The Greatest Generation “. She retired as a Educational Administrator from AT&T, Holmdel N.J. In 1984. Madeline was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends at Ocean Court. Madge, as she become known, volunteered her time and was on the Board of Ocean Court for 14 years as Treasurer and Secretary respectively. Madeline was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, H. Earle Jarden, Jr. Madeline is survived by her daughter, Eileen Skehan and her husband Bill, and her son Earle W. Jarden and his wife Kathy; five grandchildren, Michael Skehan, Deirdre Conneely, Courtney Cioll, Allyson Longo, and Earle W Jarden Jr. Madeline also had thirteen great grandchildren : Elizabeth, Bridget, Megan, Tommy Connelly, Nevi, Van, Wellsie Skehan, Trey, Maddy, Piper Cioll, and Jackson, Olivia, Brayden Longo. A feisty lover of her family, Madeline was adored by her five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and could often be found sharing stories about the adventures of her amazing life and especially the rise and fall of Atlantic City. She also loved her nightly glasses of home made Sangria and a occasional Manhattan. She also had a heart full need to satisfy her sweet tooth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday February 23 at 11 am at Saint Frances Cabrini R.C. Church, Second Street, Ocean City N.J. 08226. Friends may call from ten o’clock until time of mass. Final resting place will be at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Mays Landing, N.J.
