Obituary of Carole A. Maybin
Carole Ann (Gilbert) Maybin, 77, of Mays Landing, NJ passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2022, with her husband and son by her side.
Born in West Point, NY to the late John and Florence (Loper) Gilbert, her family moved to Ventnor City, NJ where she was a graduate of Atlantic City High School and met the love of her life, John Maybin. After graduating from Goldey-Beacon College in Wilmington, DE. Carole started her career with the Federal Aviation Administration Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Her career later moved the family to Norman, Oklahoma where she retired after 43 years of service. Carole received numerous awards throughout her career for her dedication and work ethic. During her time in Oklahoma, she became a diehard Oklahoma Sooners fan as anyone would know if they called her during game time! She also enjoyed making greeting cards for everyone’s special occasions. After she retired, Carole and her husband returned to NJ in 2014 to be with her son and extended family. Her ultimate gift was becoming a grandmother to her beautiful grandson Luke, who she loved and adored so much.
She touched so many lives and was always making new friends wherever she went. She was a strong soul who battled cancer twice and won! Ultimately, the Lord decided it was time for her to come home.
Survivors include her husband, John Maybin Sr of 52 years, son John Maybin Jr (Laura),sister Betty Lou Snyder, grandson Luke, nieces and nephews Kimberly, Karen, Carole, Kenny, Susan, Lindsay, Joan, Jeanie, Alison, Andy, Toni, Ralph, Billie, Tommy, Mickey, Timmy and Nicki.
Carole was predeceased by her parents John and Florence Gilbert, sister Constance Wagner, brother and sister-in-laws Kenny Snyder, Cecil and Frank Maybin, Dolores and Mickey Hayes, Bill Mcdade and Dale Carafa.
