Betty B. Bevan, 93, of Ocean City, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2022 at home with her family by her side. Born in Ocean City, NJ to the late Wilfred and Helen (nee Moses) Booth. She was a graduate of Ocean City High School class of 1945. Betty had worked as the Attendance Officer for Ocean City High School from 1968 until 1976-a job she loved. Betty was the youngest and last remaining of 12 siblings in the Booth/Rumer family. She loved to spend time with family, friends, and neighbors. A life-long resident of Ocean City, she enjoyed walking the boardwalk, sitting on the patio, and watching for cardinals. She was a longtime member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husbands William D. Nickles Jr. in 1972 and Allen L. Bevan, Jr. in 2016. Surviving are her sons: William (Camille) Nickles, III and James (Cris) Nickles, Step-children: Allen “Jim” (Elaine) Bevan, III and Diane Radliff, and daughter in law Wendy Quinn. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Christine, Kristin, Kelsey, Justin, Cole, Cara, and William IV, and her great grandchildren: Tristan, Talia, James, Luke, Marin, Joseph, Frederick, Porter, and Deacon. Her Funeral Service will be offered Monday, February 7, 2022 at 11 o’clock at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 8th Street at Central Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where friends may call from 10 o’clock until time of service. Burial will follow in Seaside Cemetery, Palermo, NJ. Memorial contributions are suggested in her name to the Asbury Endowment Fund of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church.
