Ronald Frances Smith Sr , 84 years old ,passed away peacefully at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point , NJ on December 1, 2021 while surrounded by family. Ron was born in Jersey City ,NJ on December 21st ,1936.He grew up in the Greenville section of Jersey city where he went to grade School at P.S.#30 and then to Snyder High School. After vacationing weekends for many years at the shore in Cape May County he had resided in Dennisville NJ for the past 25 years. Ron worked at the Arvey Corp in downtown Jersey City in shipping leadership until he he moved on to Biocraft Laboratories in Waldwick NJ where he worked as a production manager until he retired at 60 years old ,…After retiring from Biocraft Labs he went back to work driving a school bus for the children of Dennis Township NJ , a job which he loved . He enjoyed playing softball with his friends ,and crabbing ,fishing and boating with his wife Kitty and family. Ron also loved to watch football and baseball and visit the Atlantic City Casinos. Ron was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served from 1954-1957. Survived by his daughter Debra Stark (Wayne) and son Ronald Smith Jr (Sandy)..granddaughters Dawn Myers (William ), Jamie Stark and Kelly Galati (Vinny)..great grandsons Declan, Liam and Grayson Myers and Lorenzo Galati. Ronald was preceded in death by the Love of his Life Catherine “Kitty “Smith (Conley) his parents Daniel Smith and Helen Smith , brother Daniel Smith and sister Dorothy Lombardi. A Memorial Mass will be offered Saturday, January 15th at ten o'clock from The Church of the Resurrection of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 200 West Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ. www.godfreyfuneralhome.com.
