Franklin Williams, Jr.

Obituary of Franklin Williams, Jr.

Franklin Williams Jr. (66) passed away in his home in Fort Myers, Florida on August 22, 2021. Franklin was raised in Ocean City, NJ which remained his home for over 50 years before “retiring” to Florida. He graduated from Holy Spirit High School in 1973 were he played several sports. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Stockton University. Franklin practiced Real Estate for close to 40 years in Ocean City. He was appointed President of the Board of Realtors for three separate terms, was named Realtor of Year, was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club, and was an active member of RPAC. His professional career was the perfect complement to his charisma, outgoing nature, and his ability to talk to anyone anywhere. He seemed to know someone, no matter where he went! Franklin’s personality was larger than life and he had a knack for being successful in just about anything he tried. He was remarkably intelligent and funny. He was a skilled and very meticulous carpenter, and typically worked for a few laughs, good company and of course, Budweiser. He was an accomplished boat captain and spent many hours on the ocean waiting for the coveted “got’em on”. He was a mentor and coach to a countless number of Ocean City’s youth, including his own children, nieces and nephew. Franklin was incredibly proud of his four children and made sure everyone knew it. After moving to Florida he discovered one of the biggest joys in his life…working at the Giraffe feeding pavilion at the Naples Zoo. He found a perfect balance of sales, nature, and helping children all in one job. Franklin was loved by both lifelong friends and just about anyone who met him. And you knew you were loved by Franklin if you earned a nickname. Franklin is predeceased by his parents, Franklin Williams Sr. and Patricia Williams, sisters Kathy Edwards, and Betsy Schein, nephew Robert Marshall, and grandson Lucas O’Hara He is survived by his four children, Kelly Williams Sanders, Lisa O’Hara (Patrick), Jennifer Palumbo (Ian) and Franklin Williams III (Holly), mother of his children Sandy Williams, his siblings, Patricia Marshall, Peggy Van Horn (Tom), Paul Williams and Mark Williams (Jennifer), nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and his ultimate pride, his 14 amazing grandchildren.
