Obituary of JoAnn Slonieski

“A voice so strong and pleasantly clear, now sounds in heaven for an angel’s ear.” JoAnn Gloria Slonieski, 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday July 7, 2021. Born in Trenton, N.J., she graduated from Trenton Central High School and obtained her first job in bookkeeping in the city’s Sears Department Store, credit department. After her marriage and birth of her daughter she returned to the workforce in the medical field as an insurance specialist for numerous doctor’s offices, until her first “retirement” when she fulfilled the bookkeeping needs in her husband’s Vending Business (Sloan Vending). JoAnn also devoted her time annually for conventions with the pizza industry (Pizza Today) across the country. When her husband sold the business, she came out of “retirement” and went to work once again as an insurance specialist. She finally retired for good in 2014 to devote time to visiting family. She was a member of a number of organizations, including the church choir of St. Joseph’s in Somers Point, the church choir of St Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Marmora, Columbiettes of the Knights of Columbus, and the Irish American Cultural Society of South Jersey. Of all the things she loved to do, singing was her personal favorite. She had a strong voice she inherited from her father. Joann was predeceased by her parents Romeo & Annette LeBrun and her son Carl Slonieski. She is survived by her husband John; daughter Charline LeBeau(Dana); son John M. Slonieski(Kim); brother Jeff LeBrun (Loraine); grandchildren: Hayden, Haylee and Heidi LeBeau; John Henry, Jillian and Jane Slonieski. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from The Church of the Resurrection of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 200 West Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ where friends may call from ten o'clock until the time of mass. Burial will follow mass in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing, NJ.
