Obituary of Stephen A. Cappadona

Cappadona, Stephen A.  76 of Egg Harbor Township, NJ passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at his home.

Born in Jersey City, NJ he was formerly of West New York, NJ before moving to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

He worked as Head Custodian for the West New York Board of Education for 15 years retiring in 2006.

Mr. Cappadona was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the United States Army receiving his honorable discharge in 1966 and a member of VFW Post # 1923 in Weehawken, NJ.

He was active in his community at Village Grande playing bocce ball, billiards, swimming at the pool and with the Men’s Club playing cards. He enjoyed building bird houses.

Surviving are his siblings, Rose Marie (Gerald) Baldwin of Garfield, NJ, Ida Luciano of Spring Hill, FL, Mary Ann (Martin) Hopkins of Florida, Frances (Phil) Ganci of Florida, Salvatore (Gloria) Cappadona of Old Tappan, NJ, Ann Marie (James) DeMarco of Florida, Donna Cappadona (Kevin Malia) of  Cliffside Park, NJ.  Also surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday evening from four until seven o’clock at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Egg Harbor Township, 4008 English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday at 11:15 AM from St. Joseph Church of the Palisade, 65th and Palisade Avenue, West New York, NJ. Entombment will follow mass in Fairview Mausoleum, 501 Bergenwood Road, Fairview, NJ.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
