Obituary of Marion Obert

Marion I. Obert, formerly of Hilltop Terrace in Bloomingdale and who was 90 years old, passed away peacefully in hospice care at the Shore Medical Center following a brief illness due to complications from hip replacement.   Most recently a resident of The Shores at Wesley Manor in Ocean City, New Jersey, Marion was a homemaker, mother of four, and loving and devoted wife to her husband, Henry, who pre-deceased her in 1987.    She was also a dedicated and supportive wife of Henry who was a career US Air Force Master Sergeant while he was stationed at Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lakes, Washington; Royal Air Force Base in Upper Heyford, England; Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico; and, McGuire Air Force Base in Wrightstown, New Jersey.  Some in the Tri-Boro community may remember Marion as a dedicated and well-liked saleswoman at the former Singers Department Store in Pompton Lakes.    Marion was fond of long walks alone or with friends and family near her home in Bloomingdale.  She was also a square dance devotee and an expert in preparation of pot roast, one of her specialties.

Marion is survived by daughters Diana Probasco of Ocean City, New Jersey and Karen Tempelmann of Ottsville, Pennsylvania; sons Henry J Obert, Jr. of West Palm Beach, Florida; and, Gerald E Obert of Kinnelon, NJ.   Her grandchildren include Erica Mills and Henry Obert, Jr (III) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; Amy Kennedy of Houston, TX; Paul Probasco of New York, New York;  Bernt Obert of Kinnelon, New Jersey; and, William Tempelmann of Ottisville, Pennsylvania.   Marion was also blessed with eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.    Her Funeral Service will be offered Tuesday, December   4, 2018 at 11:30 from The Godfrey Funeral Home, 809 Central Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where friends may call from 10:30 until time of service.   After funeral services in Ocean City, New Jersey, she will be interred adjacent to her husband Henry's remains at Arneytown Veteran Cemetery in Arneytown, New Jersey.
