Obituary of George Roland Sauble

George Roland Sauble, 68, of Ocean City, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2018 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Gettysburg, Pa he had lived most of his life in Linthicum Heights, Maryland before moving to Ocean City, NJ in 2012.

George was an Eagle Scout with Troop 474 of Glen Burnie, MD from 1967.

 He was a graduate of Severna Park High School Class of 1968.  He graduated from Gettysburg College in 1972 and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity where he served as President.  He graduated with a BS in Math.

George and Kathy married in October 1971 in Gettysburg, Pa.

Mr. Sauble was the Vice President of Omitron, Inc., and Orca, Inc., both in Greenbelt, MD before his retirement.

He had been an active member of NASA’S Goddard Space Flight Bible Club in Greenbelt, MD.

George commissioned the Linthicum Apache Girls Lacrosse Program in 1991.

George was a member of the 2001 Flagship Class of Leadership Anne Arundel County, and served for three years as a member of the Anne Arundel County, District One, Long Range Planning Committee.

He loved playing golf, enjoyed woodworking, traveling and family trips to the beach.

He was predeceased by his father George Raymond Sauble.

He was the loving husband of Kathy Sue (nee Adamson)  Sauble, Loving father of Kristin Anne Hoffensetz and her husband Peter of Severna Park, MD and Janis Elaine Birch and her husband Mac of Ocean City, NJ.  Also surviving are his mother: Doris Elaine (nee Swartzbaugh) Sauble, three grandsons: Adam, Andrew and Miles and a brother: Scott Sauble and his wife Sharon and nephews Scott and Justin.

A Memorial Service will be offered Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11 o’clock at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38 West Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD.   Friends may call from 10 o’clock until time of service. A luncheon to follow in Fellowship Hall of the church.

George will be remembered lovingly by his family, and fondly by those whose lives he touched here on earth.
