William Ruszkowski

Obituary of William Ruszkowski

Ruszkowski, William E. 81 of Ocean City, NJ. On Valentine’s Day 2018, Bill was called home to heaven for a special reunion date by the woman of his dreams, his dear Josie.  A man with such strong passion for his beloved, this captain sailed his ship away from this earthly home peacefully and into her loving embrace.

The man. The myth. The legend.  In his words, men wanted to be him, and women wanted to be with him.  Bill loved boats and fishing, vodka over pain meds, testing style boundaries, word search puzzles, his family,  and his JoAnn, not necessarily  in that order.  He hated disorganization and vegetables, in that order.  Bill was also a musician, a member of Polish American String Band, and had a band in Philadelphia called The Jolly Cavaliers.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was formerly of Holland, PA moving to Ocean City, NJ in 1984.

He was a dedicated veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Navy on the USS John McCain in the Pacific. He had many careers ranging from self- proprietor business owner to video gaming and sales management.  He retired as warehouse manager for Pacor in Philadelphia, PA.

He was preceded in death by his spouse, JoAnn Ruszkowski in May 2013.  Surviving are his daughter, Rae-Ann Ruszkowski of Media, PA; son, William E. Ruszkowski III and wife Stacy of Ocean View, NJ; three grandchildren, Melissa Langley and husband Mark, Samantha Ruszkowski, and Willie Ruszkowski; and one great-grandchild, Caleb Langley.  Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph Ruszkowski of Smyrna, DE and Henry Ruszkowski of Philadelphia, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday morning at 11 o’clock from Our Lady of Grace Parish, 225 Bellevue Avenue, Penndel, PA where friends may call from ten o’clock until the time of mass. Burial will follow Mass at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne, PA.
