David J. Dougherty “Papa Doc”, age 65, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, formerly a long time resident of Fishtown, Philadelphia, PA. passed away on January 08, 2023.
He is the beloved husband of 42 years to Dee (nee Konopka).
Dave was a hard worker his entire life. He worked at Quaker Jobbing Company for over 30 years and retired in 2020.
Devoted Father to David, Aj (Tiffany), Allison (Marcus), Bobby, Jimmy (Tracey) and Barbara (Louie).
There was a light in his eyes for his kids. He loved coaching and watching Aj play baseball, loved watching David drive his imaginary cars and loved showing his baby girl Allison his passion for cooking.
Loving Poppy to Kaylee, Ryan, Ava, Nicole, Little Aj, River, Krystal, Brian, Devin, Breanne, Gionna and Rowan.
Cherished son of the late Eunice Duffy.
Dear brother of Elizabeth (Tom), Joseph, the late Deborah, and the late Eunice Margaret. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and his lifelong best friend Cooper.
Dave enjoyed spending time with his Dee, playing the lottery, getting tattoos, listening to music, cooking for his family, always had the best jokes to tell and always gave you a reason to smile but his main focus in life was his family.
When he became a Poppy, he believed that his life was complete and loved spending time and watching his Sugar Plum, Peanut, Sweet Pea, Grasshopper, Speedy, and his Buster Bad a** grow. He was a true lifelong, Eagles and Phillies fan and an avid dragons and wizards collector.
Dave was loving, hardworking, selfless and a humble man who was not ready to leave his family. His stories and love will be carried with us through all of our lives and his memory will be cherished for generations to come.
In Lieu of flowers, family prefers you play Dave’s favorite lottery number 613 in his memory.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life on January 21, 2023 at 1:00PM.
