MARY ELIZABETH KANE LAW
November 11, 1931 - July 20, 2022
Mary Elizabeth (Kane) Law, 90, of Marmora, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022. Mary was born in Cheltenham, PA, the fourth child of Martha Elva (Conover) and Joseph James Kane, Sr. She graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School in North Philadelphia in 1949. Mary worked for Bell Telephone Company of PA, later being a Stringer for the Ocean City Sentinel-Ledger and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years, first as a Clerk and then a Rural Mail Carrier.
Mary enjoyed hobbies such as stamp & coin collecting, photography, ceramics & traveling, sports such as bowling, bicycle riding, walking, and golfing. Later she enjoyed televised football & baseball. Her most favorite thing to do was to write, edit and produce newsletters. She was an Editor of The Garden State Rural Carrier, The Family New & Views and also editor for the Historical Preservation Society of Upper Township. Mary wrote a book called The Postal History of Cape May County, NJ. Mary was also a long time member of the Cape May Patriots Chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).
Mary is survived by her seven children, David Law Jr. (Gloria.dec.), Petersburg, NJ, Dennis Law (Melissa.dec.), Scapoose, OR, Mary Beth Slivka (Bob), New Brunswick, NJ, Diane Rosenfeld (Sam.dec), Seaville, NJ, Barbara Simmerman (Bill) Petersburg, NJ, Douglas Law, (Diane), Toms River, NJ and Laura Law, Bellingham, WA., 17 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Also surviving are her sisters Kathleen Terwilliger and Beatrice Cunningham.
Pre-deceasing Mary, are her parents Martha & Joseph Kane, her husband, David E. Law, Sr., Granddaughter Dawn Law, Grandson Daniel Law, Great Granddaughter Priscilla LaBoy, her sister Martha Schnepp, her brothers James Kane and Joseph Kane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Church of the Resurrection of Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 200 West Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ where friends may call from ten am until the time of mass.
Burial will be immediately follow the mass at Seaside Cemetery, Palermo, NJ.
