Therese Rose Knight (Nellessen), 62, of Seaville, passed away on June 23 from cholangiocarcinoma. She is predeceased by her parents, Carmella A. Nellessen (Padula) and John P. Knight, sisters Jody A. Klinksiek (Paul) and Robyn C. Nellessen, and grandsons Ralph & Gus.
Therese was born on October 2, 1959 in Patterson, NJ. She grew up in Pequannock with her three sisters, putting on plays and Miss America contests. Therese was a star trumpet player in the high school band, and studied music at the University of Montana in Missoula. She met Todd, also from NJ, in Montana in 1978, and she eventually moved to South Jersey after marrying in 1984.
Therese was warm and hilarious, even when she didn’t mean to be. She was kind, smart, and selfless. She loved being a mother to her three children. She loved Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin, and the Beatles. Therese was happiest on the beach in Strathmere, sharing snacks with friends & family. She loved going on cruises to the Caribbean and visiting baseball stadiums. She would never say no to helping someone. She was the best Band Mom in the Ocean City HS Band. Therese adored being grandmother to Ralphie & Gus, cherishing every hug. She is a pillar.
