Constance Cunningham Cornelius, age 89, passed away in Ocean City New Jersey on May 16, 2022. Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1932, Connie met William Albert Cornelius (deceased 1984) at Lehigh University, and married him in 1956. Their only daughter, Christine Elizabeth Cornelius, was born in 1957. Connie and Bill lived in Camp Hill and New Holland Pennsylvania before moving to Hawaii in 1962. They travelled with their daughter to the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, and toured the Pacific before moving back to Pittsburgh in 1966. Connie worked at Covato/Lipsitz investment in Pittsburgh as the office manager until her retirement in 1994. Connie moved to her favorite place, Ocean City New Jersey in 1996. She loved her life there: biking, beaching, boardwalking, and hosting many friends and family over the years. She could not resist a slice of Mack and Manco’s pizza, clam chowder at Smittie’s, or a chocolate milk shake at Kessels. She loved the Steelers, her two cats Snoopie and Wajir, and feeding seagulls. She leaves behind her daughter, Christine; her sister Kathleen Kufrovich Trippett; grandchildren Farhiya (Abdirahman Ahmed), Zeitun and Mohamed Tifow; great grandson Yahya Ahmed; niece Donna Marie Reagle (Robert), grand nephew and niece Tyler and Sara Reagle, and cousins Robert Cornelius, Cathy Schiman and Albert Gee. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Joseph and Bertha Cunningham, and her brother Eugene Cunningham. She was cared for over her last years by two wonderful women, Lakeisha Newby (Atlantic City), and Martha Nelly Garnette (Staten Island). She was under the excellent care of Dr. Ulices Perez of Shore Physicians Group. Connie only had one child but was a mother to many, including Laura Ann Boehm, Greg Covato and Linda Jones. She loved well and was well loved. She remains in our hearts. If you would like to honor Connie, please send contributions in her name to the Humane Society of Ocean City, 1 Shelter Road, Ocean City New Jersey 08226.
