Robert C. Farmer, 90, of Marmora, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Born November 02, 1931 in East Jordan Michigan, son of the late Richard A. Farmer and Marguerite L. (Piggott) Farmer. Robert proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force; a Korean War Veteran, served on the Texas Tower as a radio repairman, awarded a commendation medal for meritorious service and a 1961 graduate of Kingston IBMP to then went on tobecome a computer technician. After his military service, Robert, went on to work for Schuff Electric; finally retiring from the B.L. England Plant. In 1964 Robert and his family moved to Marmora, NJ and he became known as the Mayor of Bayaire St. You could always find him sitting on his truck tailgate ready to repair anything, have a conversation or just tell people to slow down. Robert enjoyed his time hanging with the guys at the bay dock (Tuckahoe Inn), fishing and bird watching. His family will forever smile ever time they hear the jingle Rice-A-Roni in their memory of him sitting in his favorite recliner and happily singing his favorite tune. Robert will deeply be missed by his loved ones and all that knew him. Survivors include his wife of 66 years Helen (Hockenberry) Farmer; children Deborah (Howard) Wright, Mark (Suzanne) Farmer; grandchildren Mark (Brian) Schmidkunz, Shawn (Debra) Wright, Shannon (Steven) Romano and Elizabeth Farmer; great-grandchildren Hannah Wright, Julianna, Lucianna and Steven Romano. He is also survived by his sisters Shirley (John) Gibson and Ann Pemberton. He was preceded in death by his son Brian Farmer and brothers Gary and William Farmer. To honor his final request Robert has asked that no service be held.
