Michael Patrick O’Neill Jr., 31, passed away peacefully at home in the mountains of Fairview, West Virginia, on Saturday, April 24th, 2021. Born on September 28, 1989 in Somers Point, N.J. at Shore Memorial Hospital, he grew up in Ocean City, NJ and graduated from Ocean City High School class of 2008. He then moved to California and worked as a carpenter and cannabis farmer. Michael was the definition of a free spirit. His sense of humor and one-liners would catch everyone off guard. His laugh was always genuine, and to make him laugh was an invaluable feeling. He loved music. He was always playing his banjo, or his wide-ranging record collection. His life was full of adventure, never a dull moment when he was around. He loved his two dogs Dirt and Moonshine, whom were always in tow and traveled with him everywhere. He lived a full life, but left too soon. Michael is survived by his sister Shannon, and brother-in-law Joshua DuBruille, and his loving parents Michael O’Neill Sr. and Mary Ellen. Michael was proceeded in death by his grandparents, John Francis (Jack) and Joanne O’Neill, Robert and Orthia Reilly, his aunts: Rita Reilly and Jacqueline O’Neill. The O’Neill family would like to send their thanks to everyone for the outpouring Love and Support for Michael at this difficult time. There are no words that can express our sorrow and pain. Michael lived his life as a free spirit. He has accomplished all the things he loved throughout the final years of his life, both in the mountains and fishing in the ocean. He was a wonderful son, brother, and friend, we are all so proud of him. Friends and family that wish to say their final goodbye to Michael, a (walk through) viewing will be held on May 4th , 2021 10a.m.-11a.m. at the Godfrey Funeral Home 644 Rt. 9 Palermo, NJ 08223.
