Noel Shirley Nolley, was born in Ocean City NJ on March 31, 1934 to Louisa and Nathan Davis, Sr. She went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2021. Noel was a life-long resident of Ocean City, NJ; having graduated from Ocean City High School in 1952. Noel met and married her late husband Edward Nolley in 1962. They were blessed with four children: Shirley Watts of Ocean City, NJ, Sandra Nolley of Clementon, NJ, James Nolley of North Brunswick, NJ and Edward Nolley, Jr. of Atlantic City, NJ. She enjoyed being a mother and spending time with her family, especially on the beach during the summer months. Noel held several jobs during her life; including being a nursing assistant at Shore Memorial Hospital. However, she was most proud of her work with children and families as part of the Ocean City Head Start program. She was active in her community, participating on local school boards, in political organizations, social organizations and her spiritual home, St James AME Church. Although, Noel ended her spiritual journey on this earth with Macedonia United Methodist Church. Noel will continue to hold a special place in the hearts and minds of many because of her vibrant personality and her beautiful smile. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Louis and Carlton Davis, both of Ocean City. She is survived by her children, her brother Nathan Davis, Jr., Sisters-in-Law Emma Davis, Marion Davis, Fay Wright, and Zeater Toye-Robinson also; her brothers-in-laws Lewis Jones, Vernon Blackston, and Lionel Raymon. In addition, she unfortunately leaves behind her Aunt Shirley James, Cousin Jean Washington, 11 grandchildren Unity, Aliyah, David, Langford, Theresa, Carlton, Milah, and Tyler. Lastly, she had to say her final goodbyes to 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
