John LaSapada, 66, of Ocean City, NJ passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Virtua Hospital, Voorhees, NJ. Born in Corniolo, Messina, Italy to the late Orazio and Maria (nee Otera) LaSpada, he came to the United States with his family in 1958. John had lived in Pennsville, NJ before moving to Ocean City, NJ in 1997. He had worked as a Manager for Mannington Mills Flooring for 24 years before opening LaSpada’s Italian Delights on the Ocean City boardwalk. After six years, John became the proud business owner of Coffee, Etc. in Seaville, NJ. Surviving are his wife of 44 years Linda (nee Mauger) LaSpada, his daughter’s: Melisa (John) Vogt, Marisa (Wade) Rosenberger, and his beloved grandchildren: John Vogt, Jr., Riley Vogt, Payton Rosenberger and Marissa Kohrherr. Also surviving are his sisters: Jackie Otera, Anna Crosier and brother: Frank (Arlene) LaSpada and his many nieces and nephews. John loved his family with all his heart. Sitting on the porch, listening to Elvis and sharing stories with his grandchildren was his favorite pastime. John enjoyed fishing and cooking big Italian meals or relaxing in his chair watching The Lone Ranger and movies of The Wildwest era. His funeral service will be offered Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11 o’clock from Chapel by the Sea, 55th Street at Asbury Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where his viewing (with Covid restrictions) will be from 9:30am until time of service. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem, NJ.
