Culbertson, Jane Young 96 of Ocean City, NJ passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at her home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she had summered in Ocean City, NJ since 1922 becoming a year round resident in 1970. Mrs. Culbertson was a graduate of Overbrook High School, class of 1933. She received her B.S. degree in Education from Temple University where she completed post-graduate studies with further post -graduate studies at Penn State University. She worked as a Secretary to the Superintendent for E. I du Pont de Nemours & Company, Inc. , and as a Statistician for Farm Journal, Inc. both in Philadelphia, PA. Mrs. Culbertson's memberships included the Republican Club of Ocean City where she served as Trustee, Treasurer and Secretary, Friends of the Ocean City Historical Museum, the Colony Club, serving as Trustee, the Gardens Civic Association where she served as Treasurer and President and served as Republican Committeewoman for Ward 1-District 1 from 1987 until 1990. She was a volunteer for the Ocean City Municipal Planning Board where she was Vice Chairman and was the Ocean City Community Representative to the American Red Cross for Cape May County. Mrs. Culbertson was a volunteer for the Ocean City Library where she served as Treasurer and President. She was honored by The Ocean City Chamber of Commerce in 2003 for her Library Volunteer work and was also chosen Spindrift Citizen of the Year in 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Karen Corbin of Philadelphia, PA, a son, Ned Culbertson of West Chester, PA and granddaughter, Alexandra Corbin of New York City, NY. Her Funeral Service and Interment were held privately in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
