McDonough, John J., Jr. 71 of Marmora, NJ passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Cape Regional Medical Center.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he had been a Marmora resident for 50 years.
Mr. McDonough was a Teacher of the Handicapped and Guidance Counselor for the Avalon Public School District for 37 years retiring in 2009. He also was a part time Guidance Counselor for the Adult High School at the Cape May County Technical School and a part time Career Counselor for students in the federal prison in Fairton, NJ.
He was a member of the Cumberland County Rifleman Club, the Delaware County Gun Club and the Ocean City Dog Park.
Surviving are three daughters, Deborah J. Phillips (Jay) of Marmora, NJ, Stacy D. DeLuca (Mike) of Clermont, NJ, Jennifer McDonough (Joe Granville) of Pennsylvania, three grandchildren, Michael, Madelyn and Erin and his dog, Mandy. He was predeceased by his wife, Trudy McDonough.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be offered on Friday at 11 o’clock in Seaside Cemetery, 559 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ.
