Obituary of Anna Farmer

Anna C. Farmer, 97, of Ocean City, New Jersey passed away April 24, 2017 at The Shores.

Born July 20, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA to Robert and Gertrude Farmer, Anna graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School in 1938 and St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. She worked as a pediatric nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital and for Dr. Bender in Upper Darby, PA.  

A long-time resident of Ocean City, Anna worked for Mr. Howard Stainton, former mayor B. Thomas Waldman, and Stainton’s Flower Shop. She was a faithful member of the Alter and Rosary Society at St. Frances Cabrini. Anna was an avid reader, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting baby gifts.

Beloved aunt of Barbara DiLorenzo (Bruce) of Glassboro, NJ; Catherine Farmer of Glassboro, NJ; Michael Farmer of Perkasie, PA; Marge Grim of Bally, PA; Nancy Godfrey (Walter) of Asbury, NJ; Susanne Motley of Phillipsburg, NJ; Trudy Obrien (Michael) of Toms River, NJ; and numerous great great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Gertrude; sister, Marguerite Bell; and brother, Robert.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Frances Cabrini, 2nd and Atlantic Avenue on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Visitation at 9:30 AM at the church. Godfrey Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Frances Cabrini R.C. Church.
