Obituary of Joseph Coccaro
Joseph Frank Coccaro passed peacefully on Saturday, April 8, at his home in Marmora among family members. Joe was born on December 11, 1929 in Jersey City to Carmine and Anna Andriola Coccaro. He was raised in Vineland and upon graduation from Vineland High School served in the US Air Force. He married Silvia Graiff of Vineland and raised three children with her at their home on Columbia Avenue. Joe and Silvia moved to Ocean City when the kids were raised and then to Marmora when they retired. Joe was a salesman and spent the bulk of his career running WMVB radio station, based in Millville. Joe was gregarious, fun loving and energetic, even into his late eighties. He was a long-time member of the Ocean City Fishing Pier and a consummate surf fisherman. One of his many joys was four-wheeling on the beach with his children and grandchildren. Joe loved dancing, drinking, Italian food, and Frank Sinatra music. He was always quick with a joke and known for his boisterous laugh and taunting. Joe became deeply involved with American Legion Post 524 in Ocean City, where he served as a junior vice commander, and was best known for tending bar and playing shuffle board. Joe is survived by sons Joseph Coccaro; Jeffrey Coccaro and his wife, Yolanda; daughter Cheryl Coccaro and her husband, Alex Tadedossian; and grandchildren Kasie Mae Coccaro, Jessie Coccaro Hooper, Jeffrey Coccaro Jr., and step-grandchildren, Erica Thame and Lovely Brooks.
