Obituary of Dorothy Brunone
Dorothy (Weising) Brunone died peacefully at age 93 on March 13, 2017 at Victoria Manor in North Cape May, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Sante Brunone, in 1995 and a sister, Elsie G. Whetstone, in 1977.
Dorothy was born on October 10, 1923 in Tamaqua, PA to the late Tryphena (Fudge) and Herman Weising. She graduated from Tamaqua High School in 1941 and worked at the former Atlas Powder Company and Bright's Department Store. She married Sante in 1945 and moved to Lansdale, PA in 1966. Prior to retiring, she worked for several years for the Army Reserve in Willow Grove. Dorothy loved music, playing the piano for friends and family, playing cards, and traveling. She loved to laugh and joke and took great joy in being with her family and friends. She spent her later years in the Allentown area where she was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Marchetti of Allentown, her daughter Sandra Harrison of Wellington, Florida, her son Philip (Tina) of Ocean City, NJ, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services are private, and donations may be made in her memory to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 140 South Ott Street, Allentown, PA 18104.
