Obituary of Robert Andrews
Andrews, Robert L. “Bobby” age 68 of Tuckahoe. Bob passed away on March 16, 2018 from complications of surgery. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Bob was born February 6, 1950 in Roanoke Virginia and lived his early life in Virginia and Ohio. He came to New Jersey to attend College and graduated from Stockton with a degree in criminal justice. He worked for Stockton Police and as a detective for the Cape May County Prosecutor's office until retirement.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents William L. Andrews and Elizabeth W. Andrews both of Roanoke Virginia. He is survived by his wife Mary and son George William Andrews, and his beloved brothers and their wives, William D. Andrews and Peggy Andrews of Galloway; Gordon W. Andrews and Mary Ellen Andrews of Mays Landing; and youngest brother Forrest A. Andrews of Millville; and beloved aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and their families, and many loved dear friends.
To have known Bob was a blessing. He possessed an amazingly benevolent spirit and would help anyone he could. He loved animals and gardening and grew beautiful fruit and nut trees. He touched the lives of many and was always quick with a joke or a kind word. He was an honorable and just man, truly the best kind of person. Everyone who knew him will struggle with his loss. Beloved to his family and friends, he will be cherished in their memory forever.
His Funeral Service will be offered Thursday afternoon at two o’clock from The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ where friends may call from one o’clock until the time of service. Burial will follow in Head of the River Cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ.
