Obituary of Gordon Patrizio

Gordon M. Patrizio, 90, passed away at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, NJ on January 11, 2018. He was born on October 23, 1927 in Oakmont, PA. He attended St. Fidelis Seminary before a two-year tour of duty with the U.S. Army interrupted his studies.

Following completion of his military service where he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Arena, Gordon entered Lafayette College. He played quarterback on the football team and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity as well as President of his class. After graduation in 1952 he worked at the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington DC for several years.

Gordon began his business career when he joined Sealtest Foods in Philadelphia as Assistant Account Manager. He moved to Pepperidge Farm as a National Sales Manager and later joined Campbell Soup Company. In 1967, Gordon joined Weightman Advertising Inc. in Philadelphia. He remained with Weightman until he retired as its Chairman in 1987 when it was one of the largest advertising firms in Philadelphia.

He retired to Ocean City, NJ, with his wife, Jacquelyn, where he was an active member of the Ocean City community and St. Damian Parish as well as an avid golf and tennis enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife of over 67 years, Jacquelyn and their sons, Paul and his wife Leslie, and Mark and his wife Paige, and his grandchildren, Kimberly, John Paul and Michael and his great grandson, Nate.

His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 21, 2018 at 11:00AM at the St Damien Parish, St Frances Cabrini Church, 2nd and Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City, NJ, 08226, were friends may visit from 10:00AM until 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or a charity of your choice.
