Obituary of Floyd Schnitzer

Floyd L. Schnitzer, Jr., 81, of Ocean City, NJ passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his home with his family and friends by his side.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa he has been a long time resident of Ocean City.

Mr. Schnitzer was a Veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Heilbronn, Germany during the building of the Berlin Wall.

He was a painter for many years in the Philadelphia, Margate, Atlantic City and Key West before his retirement.

He was a Worshipful Past Master of Richmond-Solomon’s Masonic Lodge 0003 of Philadelphia, and was a Youth Advisor and Church Council Member at St John’s Lutheran Church in Phila, Pa. 

He was predeceased by his parents: Floyd L. Sr. and Dora (nee Johnson) Schnitzer, a brother: Wayne Schnitzer (Marilyn) and sister: Eileen Fowler (Edward).

Surviving are his wife: Carole (nee Smith) Schnitzer, daughter: Lynda Kopecki and her husband Michael of Philadelphia, Pa, Godson: Joshua Haegele, many loving nieces, nephews and two adopted grandsons: Brandon and Cody Baker.

Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 until 8 O’clock at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ.

Burial Service and Requiem Eucharist will be offered Friday morning at 11 O’clock from Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 30th Street at Bay Avenue, Ocean City, NJ.
