George G. King, 85, of Marmora, NJ passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 in Cape Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.
Born in Morgantown, WV he had lived many years in Lumberton, NJ before moving to Marmora in 1993.
Mr. King was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard serving from 1949 until his Honorable Discharge in 1952.
He had worked as a Field Product Assurance Administrator for G. E. in Moorestown, NJ for 38 years before his retirement in 1992.
He was very active in his community having served on the Lumberton Township Committee for nine years, served as Mayor of Lumberton for three years and was a former member of the Lumberton Fire Company.
Surviving are his wife: Rae L. (nee Carson), three sons: Dennis, Jeffrey and Ralph, a sister: A. Mae Suter, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A Service of Memory and Love will be offered Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 12 o’clock noon from The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ where friends may call from 11 o’clock until time of service.
Burial and Military Honors will follow in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ.
