Stahler, Vincent 82 of Ocean City passed away at Shore Medical Center on November 7, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, Vince lived in Virginville, PA until moving to Ocean City as a young child. He was a 1953 graduate of Ocean City High School. Upon graduating, Vince enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served 4 years on multiple aircraft carriers. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he joined his brother’s building business in Ocean City. In 1963, Vince launched his own business and continued to work in the building industry for 40 years. In his free time, he enjoyed riding the boardwalk in Ocean City, as well as long distance bike excursions. During his retirement years, Vince loved long car rides, lunches out with his family and rocking on his front porch.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Betty Jane (nee Austin), daughter Beth Guglielmo, son-in-law David Guglielmo, sister-in-law Jean Dattilo, 16 nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Vince was predeceased by his son, Vincent Kevin, infant daughter Lori Anne, his parents, Paul and Helen (Foose) Stahler, brothers Joseph, Robert, Jeremiah and sisters Carlen Bowen and Ruth Pashley.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 11:00 am followed by a 12:00 PM Funeral Service at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ.
